Stephen
Cleobury has been Fellow, Organist and Director of Music at King's
College, Cambridge,
since 1982. He is also Conductor of the orchestra and chorus of the Cambridge University
Musical Society, Organist to the University of Cambridge and
Conductor Laureate of Britain's only full-time professional choir, the BBC Singers. Conducting now occupies much of his time, but he is also busy as a concert
organist in performance and on recording. He teaches
in Cambridge and at the Royal College of Music in London, where he is a Fellow and
Visiting Professor.
"What lifted the whole performance to an
even higher plane was the inspiring organ playing by Stephen Cleobury."
Richmond
and Twickenham Times
"The recitalist showed a dedication to
the work which was impressive and rewarding. The same dedicated approach to the (Liszt) Ad
nos produced a similar effect which gripped the audience for the whole of its 25 minute
length."
